11th of August..this would definitely be a date i will remember for the rest of my life. I lost someone really close to me and whom i really love a lot..my dear grandma..she was 92.. Never have i thought that this day would come. To be honest, all these while I was really confident that my grandma would live till she was 100+.. My lovely grandma Linda(the nickname me n my cousins gave her) is a really lovely grandma. We don’t really communicate much becoz she speaks only Hokkien while i can only understand a little n can’t really speak. But i do remember her always telling us to take care of ourselves, study hard..she also always makes sure we eat more when we’re at her place. Everytime my cousins n I go back to Batu Gajah, she never fails to give us money before we leave for our homes. She’s always worried that we don’t have enough money to buy food.

When my cousins n I were young, we were a naughty bunch and grandma doesn’t mind for all the noise we make and for all the trouble we were getting ourselves into. She’s just happy to have us all around. Then, i also remember every Chinese New Year back then, we would all gather and us kids would hold a concert especially for her and our relatives. We would spend days practising to make everything perfect.

My grandma to me, is really special. She always thinks about others’ well being and sometimes neglects her own. She’s really caring and she loves to eat pizza and KFC, haha. She also likes to look good. There was once she asked me where i got my face powder from coz she wanted it too, hehe.

I could remember one time my parents brought me,my grandma & my aunt to Sitiawan to buy some stuff and they all went down to buy the things except for me & grandma. Then, she chatted with me & somehow i understood her and i could answer her. It was the longest conversation i had with her and it was one of the best.

Grandma, don’t worry, we’ll take care of ourselves. It’s hard for me to accept this now but eventually i hope i will..I’m sure you are having a great time with grandpa on the other side of the clouds. I really love you and miss you a lot.

Hey all! Looks like the holidays are here again.. and juz in a blink of an eye, its already the last week of semester break. To sum up this semester, I would say that its more stressful probably due to the several subjects we took that dealt with figures, haha. Felt like the world was going to end after going through my final exams. And finally, the results were released yesterday and thank goodness i managed to pass all!! Really glad & thankful =)  Also, this holidays i managed to gain a new experience, which i never taught i would ever experience now. I would say it was a coincidence that it actually happened, haha. It all started when i bumped into a friend outside the cinema and she asked if i was interested to work. It was a 2 day job over the weekend and for oni 9 hrs per day, promoting an online chinese game. The pay was quite reasonable so Amanda & I decided to try it out since neither of us have worked b4. We were pretty anxious at 1st coz we have no clue if we had to speak in chinese to promote the game. To add to our worries, we dun really know wat the game is about. On our 1st day, it was pretty funny coz when we went to register ourselves as promoters, the security at Jusco wouldn’t allow us to work because we did not have the right attire. We wore jeans n sport shoes and the required attire for promoters are black pants and shoes and white shirt. Miss Low, one of our employers managed to work things out with them and we finally got to work. Our job was to hand out flyers and to explain to interested customers what the game is about. I had a newly regained respect to those who give out flyers coz its not an easy job. It really trains u to accept rejection too, haha. There r times that ppl don’t want to take the flyers we distributed so all we can do is smile and walk away, haha. Amanda & I weren’t allowed to walk around the shopping mall to distribute due to Jusco’s restrictions, so standing at the same spot for so many hours made time fly by pretty slowly. And i mean really slow.. A minute felt like an hour!! We were pretty sore at the end of our 1st day. Throughout the day, besides trying hard not to yawn so much(haha!), I entertained myself looking at cute babies and also by giving out posters to kids that stop by our booth. The next day, I saw a few of my friends who were shopping there and they stopped by n chatted with us. We went through the same routine by giving out flyers. I remembered being asked pretty weird questions by customers. The questions weren’t even about the product i was promoting! Let me share some with u: ‘Excuse me miss, where can i find pails?’, ‘Miss, where is the department for household items?’, ‘Miss, where’s the food court?’, oh n this was in chinese:‘Excuse me, ‘mak tang nol’ zai na li? (I actually thought this boy was asking me where can he find a ‘tang lung’!? And i was like, huh.. how do i know?? Then he rephrased himself in english.. he was actually asking me ‘Where can he find McDonald’s?’ haha. I felt so dumb. It was definitely an interesting experience for me. Although tiring, it was fun, hehe. On the last day, after our job, getting the pay was the best part. It was our 1st pay cheque ever. Amanda & I went shopping after that but not to spend our pay..juz to get some necessities and somehow to reward ourselves by walking around after standing for many hours, haha. If given another chance i might do this again. Oh n yesterday, Amanda, Sherri & I went to Esther’s house to bake! Yea, i know.. this is another interesting experience. Esther is the master at baking and she’s really good at it! We baked a few batches of muffins;chocolate chip,pandan kaya & peanut butter! Then later we baked some chocolate cakes as well, each for us to bring home & i must say that they all tasted real good, hehe! Thanks a bunch to Esther for taking some time off to teach us! Well, classes will begin soon & im looking forward to a new semester, full of new things to learn and hopefully enjoy, hehe. Hey all! Had a surprise visit from my lovely cousin Sandra today! Went out shopping with her in MP & dataran. Haven’t seen her for quite a while now and she was sick, poor girl. Get well soon ya! We spent the whole afternoon shopping for great deals but eventually we didn’t exactly buy any clothes, haha! Instead we bought ourselves some hairbands & some wrist bands/bracelets. We even had yoghurt ice creams which were said to be fat-free, hehe. Then later at nite, went out with my dear cousin Zen,his friends(Weityng,AJ,Navid) n my bro. Hadn’t spent time with Zen for so long and i’m glad that i did. All of us went to Pizza Hut for dinner and juz chatted and enjoyed good food, haha. Thanks to Navid who gave me a few slices of his pepperoni, haha! I juz feel so relaxed when i’m out with them and it was juz great fun. They’re all a bunch of carefree ppl & they have fun in watever they do. It was great to be in ur company, guys! *hugs* I juz love hanging out with my cousins hehe.I guess that’s all for now. Hey all! Yesterday was dearest Amanda’s 19th birthday!! Happy Birthday gal! We all had a great time at Havana’s. The gang was there and hot babe, Ee Lian joined us that nite. It was kinda funny when the waiter took our orders coz there were so many of us and we didn’t exactly wait for our turn to order our food! haha.. n he got kinda confused. But eventually he got all the orders right, hehe. I was so glad to meet all of our friends that nite. Missed u guys so much!!! Then later while we were eating halfway, the waiter came with a plate of pink heart shaped ice-creams for the birthday gal! Haha, it was totally unexpected and the waiter said that it was a gift from Asian Havana. So nice of them! After that, we all chatted a lot and many funny things came up and it was juz hilarious. Yet again, i think we were the noisiest bunch there, haha. Then, came the cake. Esther especially baked the cake for Amanda but this time Esther said her mum baked the cake n she did the topping. Anyways, we still love ur baking Esther!! *the muffins u baked for ur cyberp project was delicious 2!!* We also took lotsa pictures and it was juz an enjoyable nite. Really had fun & i hope to hang out with Amanda & the gang more often! Amanda, here’s to wishing u all the best in everything u do & may all ur wishes come true!! Luv ya lots gal! Hey all! Went to watch the Chinese Orchestra Concert today. Ai Jen & Sherri were performing so i went to give them my support, hehe! Before that, i went to fetch Jac & Kun then we headed to campus for the concert. Saw a lot of friends there & the event started bout 7.30pm. Met Amanda & Yin Li there so we all sat together. All the songs performed were pretty good. Although its a new kinda sound to me, but it was interesting to be able to see & hear different kinds of instruments. I was also amazed by the choir group. There was this guy who sang a solo part for the song ‘Somewhere out there’.. man can he sing! The girl’s voice was also pretty good. Of course, Ai Jen & Sherri did a good job playing their instruments, hehe. Then, gave my friends a ride back home & chatted with Amanda, as i’ve not really had a proper conversation with her for so long! Our schedule’s juz too busy & we took this chance to catch up on things, hehe. I guess that’s all for 2nite. Bye & take care my friends! ~Cheers!~

Hey all! My blog is so so overdued.. Lemme start from CNY,hehe. CNY was great! Stayed in Ipoh for about a week & had tons of fun! Enjoyed great food, atmosphere.. but the best part was being with my grandma, cousins and extended family, hehe. Then, during CNY, i followed my cousins for a short kinda hike into some woods to visit a makeshift temple there. As it is still new, the route to get there is not really developed & we had to like climb down this really steep route which is not tarred. Then after that, we had to climb up another steep route on the other side. It was pretty scary for me as i’ve never done anything like this b4. But i was quite amazed at myself for being able to do that. Now, to the stressing part. This semester’s really hectic! We’re practically doing assignment after assignment, exam after exam.. it juz doesn’t seem to stop! Juz yesterday, my friends and I were in campus from 11am to about10 smtg at nite juz to finish up our assignment. First time i had to eat my dinner at 10.30!! I was really relieved after the assignment was done. Then, today went for discussion for my debate next week. After that, we’ll have another mock meeting then followed by finals. Sigh..have to face the fact that we’ll be working non-stop for the next few weeks as well. To release some stress, my friends and i played tennis. Well, i didn’t intend to play.. juz went to watch them coz i have not played tennis b4 in my life! After some coaxing from my friends to give it a try.. i did.. and it was very tough! Plus the fact that i was in my heels! And the floor was wet due to the heavy rain earlier. Definitely not an easy task. But it was fun. Although i still prefer playing badminton, hehe. Hey all! Had tons of fun today, hehe. Went to A’Famosa Animal Safari with my friends, Amanda, Ken, Jinshan, Janice and my 2 new friends Leroy n Huey Juen (nice knowing u 2!). Our journey started very early. Well, for me, i had to get up at 6am! Coz the safari opens at 9am and the journey there would take a long time..well, that’s wat we thought. After fetching Amanda, i went to pick up Ken and he took over the wheel from there coz i din know the way. And i think we took oni bout 20-25 mins to reach A’Famosa from Cheng! And we were like.. ok…now wat..its only 8.35..then Ken kinda overshot and missed the entrance, haha! Luckily we could turn back n made our way in. Jinshan n gang were a little later coz he had to fetch more ppl, hehe. When we finally reached the entrance to the safari, we were like the only ppl there. So we hung around the place n ate some sausages which Amanda got up earlier to cook for us (thanks gal!). After getting our paper ‘bracelets’ haha..we went in n were greeted by some huge parrots or macaw i think. Then the lady dragged Jinshan n the rest to feed the birds n take a picture. Then later, we saw elephants coming to the entrance and juz standing there, as in to welcome guests. Later, they brought in a tiger and a lionness to the photo booth where guests can take pictures with them..but its kinda expensive though. So our adventure began when we went for the safari ride. We were taken to see the wild animals in a caged-up-like truck and there were foreign tourists with us on that truck. The ride was juz amazing! Amanda juz can’t help laughing all the way, haha! The ride was the closest i can get to a real roller coaster =P. Then we headed to for the Elephant Show and it was really amusing. Janice was asked to be a volunteer and she ended up being the "Queen", then the elephants gave her a ride on their trunks. It was so cool. Later, they asked for 2 volunteers and they chose Amanda n Leroy. Amanda was up 1st and they asked her to lie on a mat and they put a cloth over her. I was standing by the side to take pictures and wondering wat was going on. Then, the baby elephant lifted its trunk n started patting Amanda’s butt as in giving her a massage. It was juz so hilarious! Amanda couldn’t help but laugh too!It then changed n used one of its foot to massage her as well, haha. Leroy was not so lucky though. They asked him to lie down face up. And the elephant kinda gave him a massage on his erm..private part..haha. Ok..lets move on. Next, we headed to the multi-animal show. It was entertaining n the animals were so cute. There were cute little dogs, an otter, racoons, cats, a sun bear and even a cow! haha.. talented little creatures. We even got to pat n feed some sheep. After that, we went to the Monkey Island. It was a short ferry ride to the other side of the resort and we were at the island for like roughly 10 mins or so.. juz saw diff. kinds of monkeys both in enclosures and on the loose. Then, we went to the bird show. Although we were late for it but the show was still nice. Lotsa interesting birds. I think the best part was when the flamingoes paraded in. After all that excitement, we wanted to have lunch in the safari but then the food there was too expensive. So, we took a drive out to simpang empat and juz ate at a small warung selling malay food. Din have much choices but we ate anyway. Then, we headed back to the safari for the last show which was the Wild Wild West show..the show was set in a cowboy style era and it was interesting and funny but we can’t really understand wat the actors were saying though. Later, there was a part where we even got wet coz the actor was asking the audience like..‘ r u guys feeling hot?‘ then he juz grabbed a bucket of water and juz swung it at the audience. So everyone got a little wet from the sprinkles of water, haha. That show ended our adventure for the day and all of us had great fun. Although i think i got a little sunburn from walking under the hot sun for quite some time, haha. But it was worth it =). Met new friends and had fun.. now how perfect a day can be eh? =) Oh n i almost forgot. I took a pretty great move to touch a python!! I hestitated at first but then thought that this would be my oni chance to do so,haha. So, me n the rest touched the yellow skinned python and it felt cold,wet and juz..ew..haha. But the caretaker for the snake said that it was wet coz he put ice on the snake to cool it down. The snake even has a standing fan blowing specially for it! Haha, but this experience was really cool! Well, its the last week of the holidays now and classes will soon begin. Well, gotta be prepared for it, hehe. Hey all! I finally got to go to the nite zoo which was yesterday (Saturday)!!wahaha.. ok.. i sound so like a 5 year old now..but i juz love going there.. duno y..haha.Ok..so my bro N i went to fetch my couz Zen n also Wei Tyng.. then later Valerie n we headed to Havana for dinner..I ordered some pan fried fish fillet..it was ok..but i din like the sauce they put on it..too creamy..haha. But overall dinner was fun! And i think our table is the noisiest one there.There was even times i caught the ppl in front of us looking at us..haha. With Valerie around, laughter would always be in the air, haha.. n im glad that she joined us, hehe. After dinner, i kept pestering them to move faster coz i was afraid that we won’t make it in time to the zoo, yea..i was so anxious to go..haha.So, we left, then my bro used another way to go to the zoo.. and true enough we got caught in a jam..coz there was a roadblock ahead. I was thinking already like.. we’re not gonna make it la..haha..but after we finally got out of the jam then reached the zoo at about 10.15, the lady at the counter said the zoo closes at 11.30 n not 11.00 as wat i thought earlier, haha. So, managed to buy tickets n get in. This time the tour was better. We got to see more animals than the previous time that i went. But the tram ride was kinda freaky for me though.. coz the tram had no doors.. and beside u is juz pure darkness..i have no idea wat was beside me.. could see plants n all but it was freaky..haha. I think we were the only teenagers on the tram. The rest were parents with their children and only a couple sitting at the back. Well, we’re still kids at heart, hehe. It was fun… then after the nite zoo we headed to Dataran Merdeka(i think that’s wat u call it)..hung around there to enjoy the cool breeze and juz chatted. Later, we went to the car and ate Dunkin Donuts!haha.. well they ate la.. i din.. coz the box was infested with ants! But the gals did a thorough check on their donuts before eating them, hehe. I juz din have the appetite to eat after seeing those ants, haha.. although i did eat an ant before, thanks to Zen..haha..! It was a wonderful nite if i may say so, hehe. Oh n Jie, i’d still go on our supposedly planned nite zoo trip ya! Then, today (Sunday)..went to see Shan’s band Creal Box perform. Went with Alex n Valerie then met Janice there,hehe. There were 6 bands altogether performing that nite and the other bands are quite ok although there were some where i juz dun understand their music,haha.No offence though. Although all bands are good i still prefer Creal Box’s music, hehe. Creal Box rocks! After coming out of the place, i couldn’t really hear properly, haha. Thanks to the loudness of the instruments of the bands..haha. Later, headed for mamak before going home. Thanks for the ride Alex! Oh n Val, i’m gonna miss u so much! Hey all! Yay! Finally the holidays r here!!~Well, today was the last day of my final exam for this semester and yea.. it was held today, on a Sunday morning! 1st time ever having to sit for exams on a sunday..Anyway, the paper today, Microeconomics, was.. er..ok i think.. but i think i crapped a lot on the essays part. Wasn’t feeling that well during the paper but managed to finish it, hehe. Oh, and i bumped on the bruise on my leg, twice during the exam. And both times i felt like screaming, haha! It really hurt so bad.. Left straight after the exam and had lunch with my family. Then later, went to the newly opened Giant supermarket. And boy, it was packed with so many ppl! It was hard to get around too coz there r trolleys everywhere and of coz ppl trying to get about too. Din really like the environment there. Moreover, i was feeling tired and so sleepy..got so agitated and juz wanted to go home. Slept for a while then got a call from Amanda. Went out with the gals, Amanda, Sherri, Ai Jen n Crystal, hehe. After picking me up, they were still discussing where we should eat our dinner. We took more than 15 minutes i think, haha. Typical us..hehe. Finally decided on Havana. The place was quite empty though. Coz normally when we wanna go it’s packed full with ppl. Lucky day for us maybe, hehe. Ai Jen n I tried their spagetti while Sherri had her breaded chicken chop, Amanda had nyonya laksa and Crystal had pineapple fried rice. We were all satisfied with our food and we took pictures there too. After that, headed for Dataran Pahlawan, which is also called our Melaka Megamall, i think.. but we juz call it the ‘new mall’, haha. Walked around the mall and some of us bought things. We got a present for our friend as well. It was juz a great girls nite out and i had so much fun. Its great to be able to relax with a couple of good friends, especially after exams, haha. Would love to hang out with u gals more during the holidays ya! =) Oh yea.. and Yong Jie.. din u say all of us were supposed to go to the nite zoo??
